Saint Esprit Dove With Love Note Natural Pink Peach Baroque Cultured Pearls - Le Messenger de l’Amour

When we study the late Georgian/early Victorian period of time, it is evident that they had many symbols that were frequently used in jewelry. Whether those pieces of jewelry were used symbolically for ones self, as in the suffragette movement, or as a gift to a sweetheart - symbolism was rampant in society. Those private messages are just as endearing now as they were hundreds of years ago.
The symbol of the dove flying downward with wings spread wide is symbolic of the Saint Esprit religious movement. It symbolizes Christianity and was born in France as a symbol for the “Holy Spirit”. The dove itself is highly symbolic in many cultures and faiths and is widely recognized as a representation of peace, love or fidelity. Additionally, different gemstones and materials used in the construction of the St Esprit doves, had different representations.
This representation of my original ivory carved dove has been faithfully cast in EcoIvory so it complies with today’s market standards. As you can see from the detail on the topside of the dove, it is contains highly carved wings and the underside is equally detailed (you can easily see the precious little feet tucked underneath its body while in flight). This darling little dove carries a folded letter in its beak. Considering the format of the little dove along with the materials of the original, this dove was probably popular during the Victorian Era and had a message of love associated with it, due to the little letter found in its beak.
In designing this necklace, a strand of natural pink/peach/mauve baroque cultured pearls was hand-linked to form the chain, accented with crystal rondelles enhancing the last pearls of the soft and silky smooth necklace. The charming little St Esprit Dove clutching a letter has been artfully attached to a sweet little Mother-of-Pearl heart to add to the sweetheart genre of the necklace. Personally, I cannot think of a more precious and delicate token of love to be presented to your sweetheart. Perhaps an exquisite card professing your love or a hand written note of poetry should accompany this gorgeous and sentimental gift. Obviously, it is the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for your sweetie!
25.5 inches long / 3 inches drop / St Esprit Dove is 1.11 inches wide X 1.80 inches long.
