This gorgeous necklace of aquamarine and freshwater pearls with delicate brushed vermeil quatrefoil accents is the perfect combination for the mesmerizing “Crosses of Stone”, “Fairy Stone Crosses” or the geological name - Staurolite Crystals pendant which is chased in 24k gold. The soft grey-blue Drusy background of the pendant collects light and releases a beautiful granular shimmer against the dark brown crosses which are naturally formed. Staurolite Crystals are a natural rock formation in the shape of a cross and found in Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, New Mexico and Russia. They range in size from 1/8 inch to over 4 inches and are formed in five colors – red, white, black, brown and yellow. Oddly enough, all colors will turn grey when exposed to the elements for a long period of time. They are composed of iron aluminum and silicate and are truly one of Nature’s curiosities.
