There are many artistic versions of Medusa in mythology and many of them depict a woman in the midst of rage. Medusa is probably one of the most recognizable mythological figures, with her snake-like hair. This particular Medusa, cast in green Venetian glass and crowned with a beautiful carved turquoise stone, depicts her more calm demeanor. However, with a head full of snakes, I have to wonder - what sane woman could be calm?!
