Victorian Chatelaine Scent Bottle Necklace Peridot Pink Pearls - Juliana Necklace
A few years ago I began collecting antique chatelaine scent bottles to be used as focal points of some necklace designs. I have always been enamored with beautiful perfume bottles, but since I tend to wear a single signature fragrance (Fracas), having a collection of vanity bottles seemed extravagant. I think the more diminutive chatelaine scent bottles appeal to my esthetics, but also provides some interesting re-purposing when used as part of a necklace design.
A remarkable peridot green glass Victorian scent bottle (c. 1900) - embellished with gold gilt floral and cartouche casing - has now become the featured pendant of this new necklace design. Although the glass stopper is missing, as is frequently found with these delicate étuis, the beautiful bottle itself is in very good condition - considering its age.
This charming miniature bottle has been juxtaposed to a hand-linked chain of peridot ovals adorned with cannetille styled gold vermeil beads flanking creamy blush pink cultured pearls . A collection of charms has been added to the original finger loop of the chatelaine bottle - a Napoleonic Bee in gold vermeil along with a unique kite-shaped peridot briolette. A charming little Fleur de Lis, accents this unique and petite fragrance bottle.
This long and elegant necklace can be worn with or without the chatelaine scent bottle or can be used as a layering necklace for a stunning effect.
32 inches long / 3.75 inch drop from top of finger loop.
